التعريف

جامع النبي شيث في الموصل مسجد تاريخي ومقام منسوب إلى شيث بن آدم عليه السلام، ولا يصح عده مدفنا ثابتا بلا خلاف. وتذكره الرواية الإسلامية القصصية ابنا صالحا لآدم وحواء، ووارثا للهداية، ومعلما في الأجيال البشرية الأولى. ولا يرد اسمه صراحة في القرآن، كما توجد مواضع متعددة في بلدان مختلفة تنسب إليه. نقل ابن كثير والطبري وغيرهما أخبارا قديمة في معنى هبة الله، ووصية آدم إلى شيث، وتعليمه العبادة، واستمرار النسل البشري. وتذكر بعض الأخبار صحفا أنزلت عليه، لكنها ليست على درجة واحدة من الثبوت. ولذلك تحفظ الصفحة النسب التقليدي إلى آدم وحواء، وتتجنب التفاصيل غير الموثقة في الأولاد والرحلات والوفاة والدفن. كان الجامع قائما في محلة النبي شيث غربي الموصل خارج أبواب المدينة التاريخية، وعرف موضعا للصلاة والزيارة. وقد بني المجمع العثماني الموثق سنة ألف وثمانمئة وخمس عشرة إلى ألف وثمانمئة وست عشرة برعاية أحمد باشا بن سليمان باشا الجليلي، وضم مسجدا ومشهدا ووظائف مدرسية دينية. وفي سبعينيات وثمانينيات القرن العشرين أقيم مسجد ومنارة جديدان حلا محل جانب كبير من النسيج الأقدم. وأعطت هويته اسمها للمحلة وربطت الذاكرة المحلية ببيت آدم وبدايات التاريخ الإنساني وتعليم التوحيد. في أواخر تموز سنة ألفين وأربعة عشر فجر تنظيم داعش الجامع والمقام المنسوب. ولم يصب الضرر البناء وحده، بل ذاكرة الحي الدينية والمعمارية. وبعد تحرير الموصل ساهم الأهالي والجمعيات الخيرية في الإعمار، واكتملت الأعمال الأساسية خلال سنتي ألفين واثنتين وعشرين وألفين وثلاث وعشرين، وتؤكد التقارير الحالية عودة المسجد إلى استقبال المصلين. يعيد المسجد المبني الحياة الدينية، لكنه لا يعوض كل العناصر التاريخية المفقودة. وتبقى الصور القديمة ووثائق الوقف وسجلات الوقف السني وتقارير المعماريين وشهادات أهل المحلة ضرورية للبحث المقبل. هوية الجامع التاريخية قوية، أما نسبة الدفن إلى شيث فتبقى تحت المراجعة. يذكر المكان الزائر ببداية الأسرة البشرية، وأمانة الهداية بين الآباء والأبناء، ومسؤولية نقل الخير بين الأجيال. وهو للموصل رمز لإحياء التراث المدمر بجهد جماعي يحفظ التاريخ والهوية مع البناء.

الأهمية التاريخية / الدينية

يمثل جامع النبي شيث جزءا مهما من جغرافية الموصل الدينية وهوية المحلة، إذ حفظ المسجد والحي اسما واحدا عبر أجيال. ويجعل تدميره سنة ألفين وأربعة عشر وإعماره اللاحق منه مثالا بارزا على محو التراث وصمود المدينة والعمل الخيري المحلي. وتكمن أهميته البحثية في التفريق بين هوية الجامع التاريخية الثابتة وبين سؤال مدفن شيث الذي يحتاج إلى دليل أقدم مستقل.
