Article role: PRIMARY BURIAL / MAIN BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD. The developed location and heritage material was preserved and the life narrative was expanded only with named book evidence. Siyar A'lam al-Nubala, vol. 14, pp. 67–69, supports the Nahawandi origin, Baghdad upbringing, study with Abu Thawr, companionship with Sari al-Saqati, al-Harith al-Muhasibi and Abu Hamza al-Baghdadi, the report of giving fatwa at about twenty, the Qur'an-Sunnah-fiqh principle and major pupils. Hilyat al-Awliya, vol. 10, pp. 255–256 and p. 264, supports the al-Muhasibi questioning sessions, the governing role of Qur'an, Sunnah and fiqh, and the final Qur'an recitation. Wafayat al-A'yan, vol. 1, pp. 373–374, supports the family and trade designations, the dream preceding public teaching, the manaqib report of the Christian youth, death in Baghdad and burial beside Sari al-Saqati at Al-Shuniziyya. Sifat al-Safwa, vol. 1, pp. 518–519, supports the childhood lesson on gratitude and the book-transmitted worship reports. The dream, Christian-youth event and high prayer counts are presented as transmitted devotional or manaqib reports, not converted into independently proven modern historical facts.
