परिचय
शेख़ अल-मुफ़ीद, अल्लाह उन पर रहमत फ़रमाए, की क़ब्र बग़दाद के काज़िमियाह क्षेत्र में अल-काज़िमैन हरम के पूर्वी रिवाक़ में स्थित है। यह बग़दाद के विद्वत इतिहास का एक प्रमुख चिह्न है। उनका पूरा नाम मुहम्मद इब्न मुहम्मद इब्न अल-नुमान अल-उकबरी अल-बग़दादी था और पिता के अध्यापन पेशे के कारण वे इब्न अल-मुअल्लिम भी कहलाते थे।
उनका जन्म ३३६ या ३३८ हिजरी में उकबरा के निकट हुआ और पिता उन्हें शिक्षा के लिए बग़दाद ले आए। उस समय नगर इमामी, मुताज़िली, हदीस, फ़िक़्ह और विभिन्न धार्मिक बहसों का बड़ा केंद्र था। इसी वातावरण ने उनकी विद्वत पद्धति को गहरी और व्यापक बनाया।
उन्होंने शेख़ अल-सदूक़, इब्न क़ूलवयह, अबू यासिर, अली इब्न ईसा अल-रुम्मानी और अन्य विद्वानों से अध्ययन किया। उनके कार्य में रिवायत, तर्क, कलाम, फ़िक़्ह और बहस एक साथ मिलते हैं। वे केवल हदीस के संकलक नहीं, बल्कि इमामी विचार को व्यवस्थित रूप देने वाले बड़े निर्माताओं में थे।
अल-मुफ़ीद की उपाधि के बारे में विभिन्न कथन हैं। कुछ इसे सफल विद्वत बहस से जोड़ते हैं और इमामी स्मृति इसे सम्मानित पत्रों से भी संबंधित करती है। यहाँ उपाधि को उनकी बौद्धिक उपयोगिता, तर्क की शक्ति और बग़दाद में इमामी विद्यालय की सेवा के संकेत के रूप में लिया गया है।
उनके प्रसिद्ध विद्यार्थियों में सैयद अल-मुर्तज़ा, सैयद अल-रज़ी और शेख़ अल-तूसी थे। अल-रज़ी नह्ज अल-बलाग़ा के संकलन, अल-मुर्तज़ा कलाम और उसूल तथा अल-तूसी फ़िक़्ह और नजफ़ के विद्वत केंद्र के विकास के लिए प्रसिद्ध हुए। इस प्रकार शेख़ अल-मुफ़ीद बग़दाद और नजफ़ की परंपराओं के बीच पुल बने।
उनकी पुस्तकों में अल-इरशाद, अवाइल अल-मक़ालात, अल-मुक़निआ, तसहीह अल-इतिक़ाद और अल-अमाली प्रमुख हैं। अल-इरशाद ने इमामों की जीवनियों को व्यवस्थित किया, अवाइल अल-मक़ालात और तसहीह अल-इतिक़ाद ने धर्मशास्त्रीय प्रश्नों को स्पष्ट भाषा दी और अल-मुक़निआ ने इमामी फ़िक़्ह की संरचना पर प्रभाव डाला।
बग़दाद की उनकी सभाएँ गहरी स्मृति, अनुशासित तर्क और बहस की क्षमता के लिए जानी जाती थीं। असहमत लेखक भी उनकी व्यापक पढ़ाई, सार्वजनिक प्रभाव और विद्यार्थियों की बड़ी संख्या का उल्लेख करते हैं। उनका जीवन सिखाता है कि मतभेद के वातावरण में भी ज्ञान अध्ययन और सभ्य संवाद से आगे बढ़ता है।
४१३ हिजरी में उनका निधन हुआ। स्रोतों में उनके जनाज़े की असाधारण भीड़ और बग़दाद के व्यापक दुख का उल्लेख है। पहले उन्हें घर में दफ़्न किया गया और बाद में काज़िमियाह में उनके शिक्षक इब्न क़ूलवयह के पास स्थानांतरित किया गया।
२०१६ में उनकी क़ब्र पर नया लकड़ी का संदूक और आवरण लगाया गया और बाद में उनके तथा इब्न क़ूलवयह के मज़ारों के लिए नई जालियाँ बनाई गईं। यह आधुनिक देखभाल बताती है कि उनकी क़ब्र और पुस्तकें दोनों जीवित विद्वत विरासत मानी जाती हैं।
ज़ायरीन के लिए यह स्थल ज्ञान, फ़िक़्ह, कलाम और अहल अल-बैत की सेवा की याद है। शोधकर्ताओं के लिए यह दिखाता है कि बग़दाद का धार्मिक इतिहास केवल ख़लीफ़ाओं और इमारतों का नहीं, बल्कि पुस्तकों, पाठ-सभाओं, बहसों और शिष्यों का भी इतिहास है।
