ARTICLE ROLE: PRIMARY BURIAL/MAIN RECORD. Classical histories and the TDV critical biographical entry support Hani's Muradi identity, tribal influence, classification among the Tabi'in, reputation as a Qur'an reciter, protection of Muslim ibn Aqil, Maqil's infiltration, refusal to surrender his guest, beating, imprisonment and killing in 60 AH. Reports differ over Muslim's first host, and later traditions associate Hani with the battles of Imam Ali without preserving equally detailed early evidence for every campaign; both issues are stated cautiously. The private-house attack plan and treatment of the bodies are retained as transmitted reports with their variations. The official Great Mosque of Kufa source supports the present principal mausoleum beside the mosque.
