Classical histories and geographies support the foundation of Kufa, the early congregational mosque, reconstruction under Ziyad, Imam Ali's government, the events of Muslim ibn Aqil and Hani, and the Abbasid proclamation. Archaeological work supports study of the mosque-palace-rahba urban complex but does not prove every later devotional identification, including the exact place popularly called the House of Imam Ali. The precise 11,000-square-metre claim was removed because accessible descriptions do not provide one consistently verified measurement. Mosque-associated maqams are explicitly described as attributed memorial locations, not graves or automatically proven visits. Official mosque reporting supports current services, major Arbaeen flows and smart counting/security systems.
