وادی السلام، نجف میں واقع یہ مشترک زیارتی مقام حضرت ہود علیہ السلام اور حضرت صالح علیہ السلام سے منسوب ہے۔ مقامی انتظامیہ اور زیارتی روایت اسے دونوں انبیاء کی قبروں کے طور پر یاد کرتی ہے، لیکن قرآن مجید، معتبر تفاسیر اور قدیم تاریخی مصادر ان کی تدفین کے اس مخصوص نجفی مقام کی قطعی تعیین نہیں کرتے۔ اس لیے اسے احترام کے ساتھ ایک منسوب مقام کہا گیا ہے، نہ کہ ایسا غیر متنازع مدفن جس کے بارے میں کوئی تاریخی اختلاف نہ ہو۔
موجودہ عمارت کی تاریخ نسبتاً جدید اور بہتر طور پر دستاویزی ہے۔ عراقی زیارتی رپورٹوں کے مطابق پہلے علامہ بحر العلوم سے منسوب ایک علامت موجود تھی، پھر ایک مقامی نذر کے نتیجے میں اینٹوں کا گنبد بنایا گیا۔ سنہ دو ہزار چار اور دو ہزار پانچ میں تعمیر نو ہوئی، سنہ دو ہزار پندرہ میں توسیع کی گئی اور سنہ دو ہزار انیس میں ایک بڑی نئی تعمیر کا مرحلہ مکمل ہوا۔ یہ تفصیل موجودہ زیارت گاہ کی ترقی ثابت کرتی ہے، مگر خود قدیم تدفین کا ثبوت نہیں بنتی۔
حضرت ہود علیہ السلام قرآن مجید میں قوم عاد کی طرف بھیجے گئے نبی کے طور پر بیان ہوئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے اپنی قوم کو اللہ کی عبادت، تکبر چھوڑنے اور اخلاقی ذمہ داری قبول کرنے کی دعوت دی۔ ان کی قوم نے قوت اور تعمیرات پر غرور کیا، جبکہ حضرت ہود علیہ السلام نے واضح کیا کہ مادی طاقت جواب دہی سے آزاد نہیں کرتی۔ ان کی روایت انسان کو ثابت قدمی، حق گوئی اور اجتماعی غرور کے انجام سے سبق دیتی ہے۔
حضرت صالح علیہ السلام قوم ثمود کی طرف مبعوث ہوئے۔ قرآن میں اونٹنی کی نشانی، قوم کی سرکشی اور عہد توڑنے کا ذکر محفوظ ہے۔ ان کا پیغام یہ تھا کہ اللہ کی نشانیوں کا احترام کیا جائے، کمزوروں کے حقوق پامال نہ کیے جائیں اور زمین میں فساد سے بچا جائے۔ ان کی داستان قدرتی وسائل، اجتماعی ذمہ داری اور ظلم کے نتیجے کو سمجھنے کے لیے اہم اخلاقی مثال ہے۔
اس مقام کی قدر اس بات میں ہے کہ یہ وادی السلام کی مذہبی جغرافیہ میں دو قرآنی انبیاء کی یاد کو زندہ رکھتا ہے۔ زائر یہاں دعا اور تلاوت کرسکتا ہے، مگر علمی تعارف کو قرآنی سوانح، بعد کی مقامی نسبت، جدید عمارت اور ثابت شدہ مدفن کے درجوں میں فرق واضح رکھنا چاہیے۔ یہی محتاط طریقہ عقیدت کی حفاظت بھی کرتا ہے اور تاریخی تحقیق کو مبالغے سے بھی بچاتا ہے۔
