این مقام در نزدیکی داقوقِ استان کرکوک به امام علی بن الحسین زینالعابدین علیهالسلام منسوب است. اینجا محل دفن امام نیست؛ منابع کهن تاریخی و تراجم، وفات ایشان را در مدینه منوره و دفنشان را در بقیع گزارش میکنند. ازاینرو مکان داقوق یک مقام یادمانیِ محلی و منسوب است، نه قبر.
امام زینالعابدین علیهالسلام فرزند امام حسین بن علی علیهالسلام بود. ایشان از واقعه کربلا جان به در برد و سپس به علم، عبادت، پرهیزگاری، اخلاق و صدقه پنهانی شهرت یافت. منابع سنیِ طبقات و رجال نیز او را از تابعین بزرگ مدینه، راوی مورد اعتماد و دانشمندی برجسته از اهل بیت معرفی میکنند.
در منابع کهنِ در دسترس، گزارش قابل اعتمادی که سفر امام زینالعابدین علیهالسلام به داقوق، اقامت در آنجا یا عبادت در همین نقطه را ثابت کند شناسایی نشده است. بنابراین نسبت مقام به امام، سنت زیارتی محلیِ متأخر است و نه رویدادی قطعی از زندگینامه او.
منابع جدید عراقی و زیارتی، وجود مقام در داقوق، اجتماع گسترده زائران، زیارت پیاده و فعالیتهای مربوط به تعمیر و بازسازی بنا را ثبت کردهاند. اهمیت دینی معاصر آن روشن است، اما نسبت تاریخی با احتیاط لازم بیان میشود.
اهمیت تاریخی / دینی
مقام امام زینالعابدین علیهالسلام بخش مهمی از جغرافیای زیارتی داقوق و کرکوک است. اهمیت آن از قبر بودن ناشی نمیشود، بلکه به یاد اهل بیت، پیام صبر و عبادت پس از کربلا و سنت محلی زیارت جمعی مربوط است.
از نظر پژوهشی، این مکان تفاوت میان یک شخصیت تاریخیِ بسیار مستند و یک نسبت جغرافیاییِ محلی و متأخر را روشن میکند. زندگینامه امام زینالعابدین علیهالسلام در منابع معتبر ثابت است، اما ارتباط مستقیم او با داقوق اثبات نشده؛ جداسازی این دو، روش مسئولانه تاریخی است.
