معرفی

محمد بن علی علوی رحمت خدا بر او باد، با لقب صاحب مرباط شناخته می‌شود. سنت نسب‌نامه‌ای و زندگینامه‌ای باعلوی او را از نسل امام حسین علیه السلام و از مسیر علی عریضی، احمد مهاجر و خاندان علوی حضرموت معرفی می‌کند. او به محیط علمی حضرموت تعلق داشت و سپس چنان با شهر مرباط در ظفار پیوند یافت که آرامگاهش امروز از نشانه‌های مشهور دینی منطقه است. منابع متأخر، زادگاه و آموزش آغازین او را در ناحیه تریم حضرموت قرار می‌دهند و از تربیت خانوادگی، بهره‌گیری از استادان و سفر به ظفار سخن می‌گویند. زمان‌بندی دقیق و بسیاری از جزئیات بیشتر از کتاب‌های نسب و مناقب متأخر به دست رسیده‌اند تا اسناد هم‌زمان. ازاین‌رو هویت و تأثیر منطقه‌ای او را می‌توان با اطمینان مناسب بیان کرد، ولی جزئیات دقیق باید به سنت باعلوی نسبت داده شوند. اقامت در مرباط سبب شهرت لقب صاحب مرباط شد. این شهر بندری مهم در مسیرهای تجاری جنوب عربستان و اقیانوس هند بود. پژوهش‌های فرهنگی عمان او را عالم، آموزگار و فقیهی معرفی می‌کنند که در منطقه حلقه‌ای علمی پدید آورد. روایت‌های بعدی او را با فقه شافعی و کلام اشعری پیوند می‌دهند و از مسجد یا محل تدریسی وابسته به او یاد می‌کنند؛ ازاین‌رو جایگاهش در فرهنگ علمی و معنوی اهل سنت ظفار قرار می‌گیرد. زندگینامه‌های سنتی بر دانش، عبادت، بخشندگی و خدمت او به شاگردان و میهمانان تأکید دارند. همچنین از شاگردان و فرزندانی سخن می‌گویند که تبار علمی علوی را در حضرموت و در نسل‌های بعد به شرق آفریقا، هند و جنوب شرقی آسیا رساندند. اهمیت کلی این شبکه‌ها از نظر تاریخی روشن است، هرچند تاریخ‌نگاران جدید جزئیات نسب و نقش هر یک از نیاکان نخستین را نقادانه بررسی می‌کنند. مهاجرت او از حضرموت به ظفار الگویی را نشان می‌دهد که در تاریخ اقیانوس هند غربی اهمیت فراوان یافت. عالمان و خانواده‌های سادات همراه با بازرگانان سفر می‌کردند، آموزش می‌دادند، پیوندهای خانوادگی می‌ساختند و بندرهای دور را با نهادهای علمی و خویشاوندی مرتبط می‌کردند. حضور صاحب مرباط بنابراین بخشی از تاریخ جابه‌جایی علمی میان یمن، عمان و جهان دریایی است. مستندترین تاریخ وفات او در پژوهش فرهنگی عمان، سال ۵۵۶ قمری، برابر با ۱۱۶۱ میلادی، است. این تاریخ از نوشتهٔ سنگ قبر نقل شده و در منابع زندگینامه‌ای متأخر نیز به‌صراحت تکرار شده است. گزارشی دیگر تنها به‌طور کلی می‌گوید که او چند سال پس از ۵۵۰ قمری درگذشت و از آن نمی‌توان سال ۵۵۱ قمری را نتیجه گرفت. سال ۵۵۱ قمری در روایت محلی با بنیادگذاری مسجد جامع مرباط ارتباط دارد، نه با وفات صاحب مرباط. آرامگاه او در مرباط، فضای دینی پیرامون آن و استمرار لقب صاحب مرباط، یاد او را طی سده‌ها با شهر پیوند داده است. ارزش این آرامگاه در برخورد چند تاریخ است: فرهنگ دینی ظفار، دانش حضرمی، حافظه نسبی باعلوی و حرکت اقیانوس هند. از یاد او می‌توان جست‌وجوی دانش، خدمت به جامعه‌ای تازه و اثرگذاری از راه آموزش به‌جای اجبار را آموخت. احترام به زیارتگاه باید با دقت در نسبت دادن گزارش‌ها همراه باشد، به‌ویژه آنچه تنها در ادبیات مناقب متأخر آمده است.

اهمیت تاریخی / دینی

صاحب مرباط در تاریخ منطقه‌ای ظفار مهم است، زیرا پیوندی زودهنگام و پایدار میان دانش حضرمی و ساحل عمان را نمایندگی می‌کند. نقش آموزشی او در حافظه، آرامگاه و لقبی که با شهر پیوند خورده، نامش را بخشی از هویت دینی مرباط و حافظه فرهنگی جنوب عمان ساخته است. او در تاریخ سادات باعلوی نیز اهمیت دارد. نسب‌نامه‌های متأخر او را در زنجیره‌ای قرار می‌دهند که در سراسر اقیانوس هند اثرگذار شد. پژوهش جدید این نسب‌نامه‌ها را هم ادعای تبار و هم اسناد اجتماعی می‌داند که خانواده‌های علمی با آنها حافظه، اقتدار و جابه‌جایی خود را سامان داده‌اند. آرامگاه امروز ارزش آموزشی و میراثی دارد. این مکان توجه را به رفت‌وآمد قرون میانه میان حضرموت و ظفار، نقش شهرهای ساحلی در انتقال دانش و ضرورت خواندن زندگینامه‌های مناقبی با احترام و آگاهی از منابع جلب می‌کند. اهمیت آن منطقه‌ای است و بر ادعای زیارت جهانی استوار نیست.
