حضرت محمد بن علی علوی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ، صاحب مرباط کے نام سے مشہور ہیں۔ باعلوی نسبی اور سوانحی روایت انہیں امام حسین علیہ السلام کی اولاد میں شمار کرتی ہے اور ان کا سلسلہ علی عریضی، احمد مہاجر اور حضرمی علوی خاندان کے ذریعے بیان کرتی ہے۔ ان کا تعلق حضرموت کے علمی ماحول سے تھا اور بعد میں وہ ظفار کے شہر مرباط سے اس طرح وابستہ ہوئے کہ ان کا مزار آج بھی خطے کی معروف مذہبی یادگاروں میں شمار ہوتا ہے۔
بعد کے سوانحی مصادر ان کی پیدائش اور ابتدائی تعلیم کو حضرموت کے تریم اور اس کے اطراف سے جوڑتے ہیں۔ ان میں خاندانی تربیت، اساتذہ سے استفادہ اور پھر ظفار کی طرف سفر کا ذکر ملتا ہے۔ درست زمانی ترتیب اور بہت سی تفصیلات معاصر دستاویزات کے بجائے بعد کی نسبی اور مناقبی کتابوں سے پہنچی ہیں؛ اس لیے ان کی ثابت شناخت اور علاقائی اثر کو اعتماد سے بیان کیا جا سکتا ہے، جبکہ تفصیلی نسب یا واقعات کو باعلوی روایت کی طرف منسوب کرنا ضروری ہے۔
مرباط میں قیام کی وجہ سے صاحب مرباط کا لقب مشہور ہوا۔ یہ شہر جنوبی عرب اور بحرِ ہند کے تجارتی راستوں سے جڑا ہوا اہم ساحلی مرکز تھا۔ عمانی ثقافتی تحقیقات انہیں عالم، معلم اور فقیہ کے طور پر پیش کرتی ہیں جنہوں نے علاقے میں تعلیم کا حلقہ قائم کیا۔ بعد کی روایات ان کی فقہی نسبت شافعی مذہب اور اعتقادی نسبت اشعری مکتب سے بیان کرتی ہیں اور ان سے منسوب مسجد یا درس گاہ کا بھی ذکر کرتی ہیں۔
سوانحی روایت میں علم، عبادت، سخاوت اور طلبہ و مہمانوں کی خدمت ان کی نمایاں صفات کے طور پر آتی ہیں۔ اسی روایت میں ایسے شاگردوں اور اولاد کا ذکر ہے جن کے ذریعے علوی علمی سلسلہ حضرموت اور بعد کی نسلوں میں مشرقی افریقہ، ہندوستان اور جنوب مشرقی ایشیا تک پھیلا۔ ان علمی و خاندانی رابطوں کی وسیع تاریخی اہمیت مسلم ہے، البتہ جدید مؤرخین ابتدائی نسبی روایت کی ہر جزئی نسبت کو تنقیدی نگاہ سے جانچتے ہیں۔
حضرموت سے ظفار کی طرف ان کی نقل مکانی بحرِ ہند کی تاریخ کے ایک بڑے رجحان کو ظاہر کرتی ہے۔ علما اور سادات کے خاندان تاجروں کے ساتھ سفر کرتے، تعلیم دیتے، مقامی معاشروں سے رشتے قائم کرتے اور دور دراز بندرگاہوں کو علمی و خاندانی اداروں کے ذریعے جوڑتے تھے۔ اس طرح صاحب مرباط کی موجودگی صرف مقامی بزرگ کی یاد نہیں، بلکہ یمن، عمان اور سمندری دنیا کے درمیان علمی نقل و حرکت کی ابتدائی تاریخ کا حصہ ہے۔
دستیاب عمانی ثقافتی تحقیق میں ان کی وفات کی سب سے مضبوط اور معروف تاریخ ۵۵۶ ہجری، مطابق ۱۱۶۱ء، ہے۔ یہ تاریخ قبر کے کتبے سے منقول ہے اور بعد کی سوانحی روایت میں بھی صراحت کے ساتھ آتی ہے۔ ایک دوسرے مقام پر صرف پانچ سو پچاس ہجری کے کچھ بعد وفات کا غیر متعین بیان ملتا ہے، جس سے ۵۵۱ ہجری ثابت نہیں ہوتی۔ ۵۵۱ ہجری کا سال مقامی روایت میں جامع مرباط کی بنیاد سے متعلق ہے، نہ کہ صاحب مرباط کی وفات سے۔ مرباط میں ان کا مقبرہ، اس سے وابستہ مذہبی ماحول اور مسلسل رائج لقب صاحب مرباط نے صدیوں سے ان کی یاد کو شہر کے ساتھ جوڑے رکھا ہے۔
اس مزار کی قدر کئی تاریخوں کے اجتماع میں ہے: ظفار کی مقامی دینی ثقافت، حضرمی علم، باعلوی نسبی حافظہ اور بحرِ ہند کی نقل و حرکت۔ ان کی یاد سے علم حاصل کرنے، نئی آبادی کی خدمت کرنے اور جبر کے بجائے تعلیم سے اثر پیدا کرنے کا سبق ملتا ہے۔ مزار کے احترام کے ساتھ ماخذ کی درست نسبت بھی ضروری ہے، خصوصاً ان تفصیلات میں جو بعد کی مناقبی کتابوں سے آتی ہیں۔
تاریخی / دینی اہمیت
صاحب مرباط ظفار کی علاقائی تاریخ میں اس لیے اہم ہیں کہ وہ حضرمی علم اور عمانی ساحل کے درمیان ایک قدیم اور پائیدار رابطے کی نمائندگی کرتے ہیں۔ ان کا تعلیمی کردار، مزار اور شہر سے وابستہ لقب انہیں مرباط کی مذہبی شناخت اور جنوبی عمان کی وسیع ثقافتی یاد کا حصہ بناتے ہیں۔
وہ باعلوی سادات کی تاریخ میں بھی اہم ہیں۔ بعد کے نسب نامے انہیں اس سلسلے میں رکھتے ہیں جو بحرِ ہند کے مختلف علاقوں میں اثر انداز ہوا۔ جدید تحقیق ان نسب ناموں کو صرف نسب کے دعوے نہیں، بلکہ ایسے سماجی ریکارڈ بھی سمجھتی ہے جن کے ذریعے علمی خاندانوں نے یاد، اختیار اور نقل و حرکت کو منظم کیا۔
مزار آج تعلیمی اور ثقافتی ورثے کی قدر رکھتا ہے۔ یہ حضرموت اور ظفار کے درمیان قرونِ وسطیٰ کی آمدورفت، ساحلی شہروں کے علمی کردار اور مناقبی سوانح کو احترام کے ساتھ مگر ماخذ شناسی سے پڑھنے کی ضرورت کی طرف توجہ دلاتا ہے۔ اس کی اہمیت علاقائی ہے، عالمی زیارت کے دعوے پر مبنی نہیں۔
