Page/Volume: ترجمة النعمان بن ثابت أبي حنيفة؛ الصفحات تختلف باختلاف الطبعات | Tarikh Baghdad, Akhbar Abi Hanifa wa Ashabih, and Siyar A'lam al-Nubala support Abu Hanifa's identity, Persian family background, birth in 80 AH, cloth trade, teachers, students, legal reputation, refusal of judicial office, death in Baghdad, and burial tradition. Siyar A'lam al-Nubala explicitly records that he learned jurisprudence from Hammad ibn Abi Sulayman and names a large body of transmitters and students. Reports of imprisonment, punishment, and the precise cause of death vary, so the article preserves the shared core and states the disputed details cautiously. The fixed two-year formal apprenticeship claim with Ja'far al-Sadiq is not treated as uncontested fact. The Iraqi Media Network article supports burial in al-Khayzuran, the Seljuk-period dome and madrasa tradition, and the later architectural development of the Imam al-A'zam complex.
