Introduction
This site at Ayn al-Tamr is not the grave of Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba, Peace Be Upon Him. Local devotional tradition associates it with his arrival and prayer, while his recognized burial place is Jannat al-Baqi in Medina. It is therefore a secondary attributed maqam, not a second burial or a place to which his body was transferred.
Local heritage writing preserves only the statement that Imam al-Hasan reached the place and prayed there.
