Bhit Shah
Bhit Shah is a cultural and pilgrimage town in Sindh closely associated with the final residence, mausoleum and literary tradition of poet and Sufi Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. Research published by Sindh’s Culture Department records his death in 1752 and a three-day annual urs beginning on 14 Safar.
Bhittai’s Risalo, the musical practice of vaaee, the culture center and the shrine are connected but distinct subjects. IslamicPedia separates documented literary and historical information from local devotional tradition and does not treat a grave attribution, narrative or musical chronology as certain through popularity alone.
