مزار سید ابراہیم بن عبداللہ المحض، المعروف قتیل باخمرى، عراق کے اس علوی سیاسی باب سے وابستہ ہے جس نے عباسی خلافت کے آغاز ہی میں آل بیت علیہم السلام کی نسل، اموی دور کی یاد، کوفہ و بصرہ کی سیاست، اور منصور عباسی کے اقتدار کو ایک سخت آزمائش میں ڈال دیا۔ یہ مقام قادسیہ کے علاقے سے منسوب ہے، مگر اس کی اصل تاریخی اہمیت ابراہیم بن عبداللہ کی شخصیت اور باخمرى کے واقعے سے پیدا ہوتی ہے۔

ابراہیم بن عبداللہ المحض رحمۃ اللہ علیہ حسنی سادات میں سے تھے۔ ان کے والد عبداللہ المحض بن حسن مثنیٰ تھے، جن کے خاندان میں امام حسن علیہ السلام اور امام حسین علیہ السلام دونوں کی نسبتیں جمع تھیں۔ اس خاندانی پس منظر نے ابراہیم کو صرف ایک سیاسی دعویدار نہیں، بلکہ آل بیت علیہم السلام کی اس نسل کا نمائندہ بنا دیا جسے عباسی دور کے آغاز میں خاص نگرانی، خوف اور دباؤ کا سامنا تھا۔

ان کے بھائی محمد نفس زکیہ مدینہ میں منصور عباسی کے خلاف اٹھے، جبکہ ابراہیم نے بصرہ کی طرف تحریک کو منظم کیا۔ دونوں بھائیوں کی تحریک کو ایک ہی وسیع علوی اضطراب کے دو رخ سمجھنا چاہیے: ایک حجاز کی طرف، دوسرا عراق کی طرف۔ عباسی دعوت نے ابتدا میں اہل بیت کے نام سے عوامی ہمدردی حاصل کی تھی، مگر اقتدار قائم ہونے کے بعد علوی خاندانوں کے ساتھ کشمکش شدید ہو گئی۔

ان کی موت کے بعد عباسی حکومت نے علوی تحریکوں پر مزید سختی کی۔ باخمرى کی شکست نے ایک طرف منصور کے اقتدار کو وقتی استحکام دیا، دوسری طرف آل بیت علیہم السلام کے حامی حلقوں میں مظلومیت اور یاد کا ایک نیا باب کھول دیا۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ ابراہیم بن عبداللہ کا نام سیاسی تاریخ، نسبی تاریخ اور مقاتل کی روایت میں ایک ساتھ ملتا ہے۔
