The person represented here is Umm Kulthum, a daughter of Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn Zayn al-Abidin, Peace Be Upon Him. Her clearest identification is found in the child list transmitted from Shaykh al-Mufid's Kitab al-Irshad. That list records Fatima, Aliyya, and Umm Kulthum as three daughters sharing an unnamed umm walad mother. The exact paternal designation distinguishes this woman from the much better-known Umm Kulthum bint Ali ibn Abi Talib and from other Hashimite women who carried the same kunya.

The mother's personal name is not preserved in the checked source, and no securely identified woman can therefore be entered as her mother. The blank documented mother details are deliberate rather than incomplete. They reflect a basic rule of responsible genealogy: the legal and social description umm walad must not be converted into a fictional personal identity merely to make a family tree appear complete.

A significant additional notice appears in Sirr al-Silsila al-Alawiyya. In its account of Dawud ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Hasan, the work states that his sons Sulayman and Abd Allah had Umm Kulthum bint Ali ibn al-Husayn as their mother. This directly connects her with Dawud ibn al-Hasan al-Muthanna and supports recording their marriage at probable confidence.

The checked sources do not securely preserve her date of birth, education, public activity, date or cause of death, or burial place. Her profile is therefore a documentary family record rather than an event-rich biography. It preserves a daughter of Imam Zayn al-Abidin and her place in the Hasanid line through Dawud and their sons, while refusing to borrow stories, dates, graves, or titles from other women named Umm Kulthum.
