كان حذيفة بن اليمان رضي الله عنه من كبار أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وصاحب سر، وراويا بارزا لأخبار الفتن، وأميرا على المدائن. واسمه حذيفة بن حسيل أو حسل بن جابر العبسي، واشتهر أبوه بلقب اليمان. وكان أصله من بني عبس ثم حالف بنو أسرته بني عبد الأشهل في المدينة، فاجتمع له اتصال بالمهاجرين والأنصار.

اعترضت قريش حذيفة وأباه في طريق بدر، وأخذت عليهما العهد ألا يقاتلا. فلما أخبرا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أمرهما بالوفاء بالعهد والاستعانة بالله. وكان ذلك مثالا مبكرا في حياته على أن الوفاء خلق ثابت حتى مع العدو وتحت الضغط.

وفي أحد قتل المسلمون أباه اليمان خطأ في اضطراب المعركة. وصاح حذيفة لينقذوه فلم يتوقفوا، فعفا عنهم وظل يستغفر لهم حتى وفاته. فصار موقفه نموذجا للصبر وسعة القلب وتقديم سلامة الجماعة على ألم النفس.

وفي ليلة شديدة البرد والظلمة من غزوة الخندق بعثه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى معسكر الأحزاب ليأتي بخبرهم. ووصل إلى مجلس أبي سفيان، وكان قادرا على رميه، لكنه لم يتجاوز أمر النبي وعاد بالمعلومة المطلوبة. فجمع بين الشجاعة والانضباط والطاعة.

عرف حذيفة بصاحب سر رسول الله لأن معلومات حساسة عن المنافقين اؤتمن عليها فلم يفشها. وكان يسأل عن الشر والفتن مخافة الوقوع فيها. وصارت أحاديثه في الكتب الصحيحة أصلا في فهم فساد القلوب والنزاعات والقيادة وتقلب أحوال المجتمع.

وشارك في الفتوح بالعراق وفارس وأرمينية وأذربيجان. ولما رأى اختلاف أهل الشام والعراق في القراءة خشي على الأمة، فحذر عثمان رضي الله عنه من الاختلاف في الكتاب. وكان تحذيره سببا مباشرا في نسخ المصاحف المعيارية وإرسالها إلى الأمصار، فارتبط اسمه بتاريخ حفظ القرآن كتابة.

ولي المدائن، وعرف بالبساطة والمحاسبة والبصيرة. ولم تكن أحاديث الفتن عنده تنبؤا مجردا، بل تحذيرا من امتحان الأهل والمال والجيران والسلطة والولاء العام. وتوفي في المدائن سنة ست وثلاثين للهجرة بعد مقتل عثمان بقليل.

تذكر المصادر الكلاسيكية وفاته ودفنه الأول في المدائن. ويقع مرقده الحالي في مجمع سلمان الفارسي بسلمان باك. وتقول تقارير عراقية حديثة إن القبر المنسوب إلى حذيفة وقبرا آخر منسوبا إلى صحابي نقلا في أوائل ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين، وغالبا ما يؤرخ ذلك بسنة ألف وتسعمئة واثنتين وثلاثين، من موضع قريب من دجلة بسبب التعرية أو الرطوبة. وهذه رواية محلية حديثة لا خبرا كلاسيكيا، وتختلف نقلاتها في السنة الدقيقة وهوية القبر الثاني. أما روايات المنام وبقاء الجسد على حال خارقة فلا تملك توثيقا مبكرا موثوقا، فلا تعرض هنا بوصفها تاريخا ثابتا.

تجمع سيرته الأمانة والبصيرة والعفو والوفاء والانضباط. ويذكر مرقده الزائر بأن معرفة الخطر ليست نشر الخوف، بل إعداد المجتمع أخلاقيا وفكريا، وأن حفظ السر أمانة لا وسيلة لمصلحة شخصية.

الأهمية التاريخية / الدينية

يمثل حذيفة بن اليمان نموذجا بارزا في حفظ السر والبصيرة الأخلاقية وفهم الفتن الاجتماعية. وقد منحت أحاديثه المسلمين لغة لفهم خطر القلوب والسلطة والانقسام الداخلي، لا العدو الخارجي وحده.

وتلخص ثلاثة مواقف إرثه العملي: عفوه عمن قتلوا أباه خطأ في أحد، ومهمته المنضبطة في الخندق، وتحذيره عثمان من اختلاف القراءة. فهي دروس في العفو والشجاعة المنضبطة ووحدة المعرفة.
