इस मक़ाम का धार्मिक अर्थ उनकी प्रमाणित विरासत से लिया जाता है। अल-सहीफ़ा अल-सज्जादिय्या की दुआएँ, रिसालत अल-हुक़ूक़ में मानव जिम्मेदारियों का क्रम और निर्धनों की गुप्त सहायता के वृत्तांत स्थानीय सभाओं तथा ज़ियारत में नैतिक शिक्षा के रूप में याद किए जाते हैं। उनकी जीवनी स्मारक को अर्थ देती है, लेकिन स्थान की सटीक ऐतिहासिक संबद्धता सिद्ध नहीं करती।
