Aliyya bint Imam Musa al-Kazim, peace be upon him, is named in classical Imami lists of the children of Imam Musa ibn Ja'far. Shaykh al-Mufid and al-Tabrisi both include Aliyya among his daughters, while the wider genealogical tradition differs over the total number and some names of his children. No reliable independent biography, named mother, marriage, children, exact dates or burial place is preserved for her. Her identity is therefore presented as probable and limited to the securely transmitted genealogical notice.
Birth

Her exact birth year and birthplace are not recorded in the reliable sources consulted. She belonged to the household of Imam Musa al-Kazim in the early Abbasid period.

Death

Her exact year, place and circumstances of death are unknown; no reliable individual death report was found.

Burial or attributed place

Her burial place is unknown. No verified grave, shrine or reliable early cemetery attribution was found.

Biography and historical profile

The principal evidence for Aliyya is her inclusion in the child list of Imam Musa al-Kazim. Shaykh al-Mufid's Kitab al-Irshad names Aliyya among the daughters in a list of thirty-seven children. Al-Tabrisi preserves a closely corresponding list and likewise includes her name. These two notices support her identification as a daughter of Imam Musa ibn Ja'far within the Musaid branch of Ahl al-Bayt.

The sources disagree over the total number of Imam Musa al-Kazim's sons and daughters and sometimes differ in spelling, repetition and ordering of names. For that reason, the protected profile's probable confidence is appropriate. The full lineage Aliyya bint Musa ibn Ja'far is essential, because other women named Aliyya occur in Alid genealogical literature and must not be merged with this person merely because the personal name is similar.

The consulted classical lists do not identify Aliyya's mother, spouse or children, and they do not preserve an individual report of teaching, hadith transmission, travel, public activity or a distinctive historical event. A later biographical notice explicitly observes that no separate history of her life is available. These silences should be retained rather than filled with details borrowed from better-known sisters or other members of Imam Musa's household.

Her exact birth and death dates are unknown. It is reasonable only to place her generally within the early Abbasid-era household of Imam Musa al-Kazim, without assigning a precise chronology. No reliable early source establishes her place of death, funeral or burial, and no shrine or map location should be attached to her merely on the basis of a later local attribution. Her burial must therefore remain unknown.

Historical importance and legacy

Aliyya's historical importance lies primarily in the preservation of her name within two recognized Imami accounts of Imam Musa al-Kazim's family. Even a brief genealogical notice helps document the women of the Musaid household and prevents the family record from being reduced only to those children for whom extended biographies survive.

Her profile also illustrates responsible treatment of limited evidence. The supported lineage can be stated, while uncertainty over the wider child lists and the absence of personal, marital, chronological and burial data must remain explicit. This approach protects her identity from confusion with namesakes and avoids creating an unsupported shrine or devotional biography.
