Fatima bint Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin, Peace Be Upon Her, was a granddaughter of Imam Husayn, Peace Be Upon Him, and a little-documented but securely named woman of the Husayni Ahl al-Bayt in Medina. A recognized genealogical account records her marriage to Dawud ibn Ali ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Abbas and the birth of one daughter. A later hadith chain also places her as a transmitter from her paternal aunts Fatima and Sukayna, Peace Be Upon Them, while her personal chronology, death, and burial remain unknown.

Biography and historical profile

Fatima bint Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin, Peace Be Upon Her, belonged to the Husayni line descended from Imam Husayn, Peace Be Upon Him. In Kitab al-Irshad, Shaykh al-Mufid counts her among the fifteen children of Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin. The same list states that Fatima, Aliyya, and Umm Kulthum shared an unnamed umm walad as their mother. Because her personal name is not preserved, the protected mother relationship fields correctly remain blank.

Al-Shajara al-Mubaraka lists Fatima, Peace Be Upon Her, as the fourth named daughter of Imam Zayn al-Abidin. Both audited editions and Ibn Hazm's Jamharat Ansab al-Arab state that she married Dawud ibn Ali ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Abbas after her sister Umm al-Hasan and bore him one daughter. The documented genealogy now contains this exact Dawud under a confirmed identity, so the marriage is recorded as Confirmed on the strength of converging genealogical evidence.

A later transmission preserved in Ibn al-Jazari's Asna al-Matalib places Fatima bint Ali ibn al-Husayn, Peace Be Upon Her, in a chain narrating from her paternal aunts Fatima bint al-Husayn and Sukayna bint al-Husayn, Peace Be Upon Them. The chain is a noteworthy example of memory transmitted through women of Ahl al-Bayt. It is not, however, sufficient by itself to reconstruct a broad teaching career, an independent written corpus, or a firm critical ranking for her as a transmitter.

Her family position also represents a marriage link between the Husayni and Abbasid Hashimite branches. Strong available material does not connect her securely to a political movement, a direct role at Karbala, an official position, or an independent public career. The profile therefore remains limited to her established lineage, the attributed marriage, the report of one daughter, and the later transmitted hadith chain.

Reliable sources do not preserve her exact birth date or place, age, date and circumstances of death, or burial location. No strong early evidence was found for a specific grave, shrine, or map location. Her burial is therefore recorded as unknown, and all shrine and GPS fields remain blank exactly as supplied.

Historical importance and legacy

The historical importance of Fatima bint Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin, Peace Be Upon Her, begins with the preservation of the Imam's named daughters in recognized Imami and genealogical lists. Her confirmed marriage to Dawud ibn Ali provides a documented family connection between the Husayni Ahl al-Bayt and the Abbasid Hashimite branch.

Her name also appears in a later female chain of transmission in which she narrates from her aunts Fatima and Sukayna, Peace Be Upon Them. This attribution is significant for the remembered participation of Ahl al-Bayt women in transmitting learning, but the late and limited evidence is not expanded into a claim of an extensive scholarly institution.

This profile demonstrates responsible use of limited evidence: established lineage and a cautiously graded marriage are retained, while an unnamed mother, unknown chronology, unproven political role, and unknown burial are not filled with later assumptions. No shrine or GPS claim is added without historical proof.
