Introduction
The shrine of Abdullah ibn Jabir al-Ansari al-Bayadi, May Allah Be Pleased With Him, stands inside the Salman al-Farsi shrine complex at Salman Pak in Al-Mada'in. Hadith literature identifies Abdullah ibn Jabir as an Ansari Companion, while modern Iraqi accounts connect his present grave with the transfer of his remains from an older burial place near the Tigris in 1932. He must not be confused with the far more famous Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari; the order of the two names belongs to two distinct identities.
The nisbah al-Bayadi links him with Banu Bayada, one of the Ansari groups of Medina. Classical hadith collections preserve a musnad under the name Abdullah ibn Jabir al-Ansari al-Bayadi, and biographical discussion counts him among the Companions. Some commentary notes variant identifications around the transmitter called al-Bayadi, but the name Abdullah ibn Jabir is itself preserved in the hadith record and is not merely a reversed form of Jabir ibn Abdullah.
A memorable report describes Abdullah approaching the Messenger of Allah, Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him, and greeting him while the Prophet had just relieved himself. The Prophet did not respond until he had purified himself, then returned the greeting and taught Abdullah about the greatest surah in the Qur'an, identified in the report as Surat al-Fatihah. The incident joins personal courtesy, ritual purity and Qur'anic instruction, and it is the strongest surviving biographical event associated with Abdullah ibn Jabir.
The early sources do not preserve a long account of his battles, offices or family, so those details have not been invented. His secure historical value lies in his Companion status, his Ansari and Bayadi affiliation, and the hadith transmitted under his name. This limited but genuine profile is more reliable than expanding the article with incidents that belong to Jabir ibn Abdullah or to other Ansari Companions.
Modern Iraqi narratives say that Abdullah ibn Jabir and Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, May Allah Be Pleased With Them, were originally buried near the bank of the Tigris in Al-Mada'in. Because erosion or the danger of flooding threatened the graves, their remains were transferred in 1932 to the vicinity of Salman al-Farsi's grave under public and religious supervision. The broad transfer tradition is widely repeated in Iraqi local history, although precise ceremonial details should be treated as modern historical memory rather than an early source.
The present tomb forms part of a complex that gathers the memory of Salman al-Farsi, Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman and other early Islamic figures connected with Al-Mada'in. Visitors come for recitation, prayer and remembrance of the Companions. The physical grave, current administration and public recognition strongly support the present shrine identity, while the earliest phase of the burial is known mainly through later local accounts.
For visitors, the shrine recalls the service of the Ansar and the spread of early Islamic memory from Medina to Iraq. For researchers, it demonstrates the importance of distinguishing Abdullah ibn Jabir from Jabir ibn Abdullah and of separating a classical Companion identity from a modern transfer narrative. The most responsible record therefore accepts the present grave tradition, preserves the verified hadith biography and states clearly where later Iraqi memory begins.

Historical / Religious Importance
The shrine is important because it joins a verified Companion identity with the living religious geography of Salman Pak. Abdullah ibn Jabir al-Ansari al-Bayadi is preserved in hadith literature, while the present grave belongs to the modern Iraqi history of Al-Mada'in and the Salman al-Farsi complex.
The reported 1932 transfer also reflects the relationship between river geography, protection of graves, state supervision and public reverence for the Companions. It should be recorded as a widely repeated Iraqi historical tradition, without turning every later ceremonial detail into early evidence.
The record's main scholarly value is correcting the confusion between Abdullah ibn Jabir and Jabir ibn Abdullah. For visitors, the site recalls the Ansar, Qur'anic teaching and the early Muslim presence in Iraq; for researchers, it demonstrates how classical biography and modern shrine history can be combined without merging their different evidence levels.
