Some room-by-room associations and domestic details belong to the official devotional tradition and are not treated as independently proven first-century archaeology. The current archaeological survey maps the mosque, rahba, palace and House of Imam Ali area and seeks to reconstruct their structural history; it does not establish that every wall of the present building is original.
