تعارف

روضہ امام علی علیہ السلام نجف عراق کے عظیم ترین مقدس اور علمی مقامات میں سے ہے۔ یہ مقام امام علی بن ابی طالب علیہ السلام سے منسوب ہے، جو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے چچا زاد بھائی، داماد، سیدہ فاطمہ الزہرا کے شوہر، امام حسن و امام حسین کے والد، اہل سنت کے نزدیک چوتھے خلیفہ راشد، اور اہل تشیع کے نزدیک پہلے امام ہیں۔ نجف اس روضہ کی نسبت سے زیارت، علم، فقہ، کلام، شاعری، حوزہ علمیہ اور روحانی تربیت کا بڑا مرکز بنا۔ اس لیے یہ روضہ صرف ایک مدفن نہیں بلکہ علم، شجاعت، عدل، زہد، وفاداری، نسبت نبوی اور اہل بیت کی اخلاقی عظمت کی علامت ہے۔

امام علی علیہ السلام کی ولادت مکہ میں تقریباً 600ء / 23 قبل ہجرت کے قریب ہوئی۔ ان کے والد ابو طالب بن عبدالمطلب اور والدہ فاطمہ بنت اسد تھیں۔ اسلامی روایت میں یہ بات خاص اہمیت رکھتی ہے کہ بچپن سے ان کی پرورش رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے گھر میں ہوئی، جہاں انہوں نے نبوی اخلاق، عبادت، سچائی، شجاعت، امانت اور دین سے وابستگی کو قریب سے دیکھا۔ وہ اسلام قبول کرنے والوں میں اولین افراد میں شمار کیے جاتے ہیں، اور شیعہ روایت میں انہیں سب سے پہلے ایمان لانے والا مرد قرار دیا جاتا ہے۔ اہل سنت اور اہل تشیع دونوں کے مآخذ میں ان کی کم عمری کا ایمان، رسول اللہ کے ساتھ قرب، اور ابتدائی اسلام میں وفاداری نہایت نمایاں ہے۔

مکی دور میں امام علی علیہ السلام نے رسول اللہ کے ساتھ اس وقت وفاداری دکھائی جب مسلمان کمزور اور مظلوم تھے۔ لیلۃ المبیت کا واقعہ، جب ہجرت کے موقع پر علی رسول اللہ کے بستر پر سوئے، تفسیری اور مناقبی روایت میں آیت 2:207 کے ساتھ منسلک کیا جاتا ہے، جس میں اللہ کی رضا کے لیے اپنی جان پیش کرنے والے کا ذکر ہے۔ مدینہ ہجرت کے بعد وہ اسلامی معاشرے کے مرکزی افراد میں شامل ہوئے۔ ان کی شادی سیدہ فاطمہ الزہرا سے عموماً 2ھ میں بیان کی جاتی ہے۔ ان کا گھر سادگی، محبت، خدمت، عبادت، صبر، قناعت اور اللہ کی رضا کا نمونہ سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ ان کی اولاد امام حسن، امام حسین، سیدہ زینب، ام کلثوم اور بعض روایات کے مطابق محسن، اہل بیت کی تاریخی یادداشت کا مرکزی حصہ بنے۔

امام علی علیہ السلام رسول اللہ کے تقریباً تمام اہم غزوات میں شریک رہے، سوائے تبوک کے، جہاں رسول اللہ نے انہیں مدینہ میں اپنا نائب چھوڑا اور حدیث منزلت میں فرمایا کہ تم میرے لیے ایسے ہو جیسے ہارون موسیٰ کے لیے تھے، مگر میرے بعد کوئی نبی نہیں۔ وہ بدر، احد، خندق، خیبر، حنین اور دیگر مہمات میں نمایاں رہے۔ خیبر میں رسول اللہ نے علم اس شخص کو دینے کا اعلان کیا جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے محبت کرتا ہے اور اللہ اور رسول اس سے محبت کرتے ہیں، پھر علم علی کو عطا کیا؛ یہ روایت حدیث کی بڑی کتابوں میں محفوظ ہے۔ خندق میں عمرو بن عبدود کے مقابلے میں ان کا کردار سیرت اور فضائل کی کتابوں میں شجاعت کی بڑی علامت بن گیا۔

غدیر خم کا واقعہ بھی امام علی علیہ السلام کی سیرت کا نہایت اہم حصہ ہے۔ حجۃ الوداع کے بعد رسول اللہ سے حدیثی مصادر، جن میں جامع ترمذی بھی شامل ہے، یہ قول نقل ہوا: من کنت مولاہ فعلی مولاہ، یعنی جس کا میں مولا ہوں علی اس کے مولا ہیں۔ مسلمانوں نے اس روایت کو وسیع طور پر محفوظ کیا، اگرچہ بعد کی تفسیری اور کلامی تعبیرات مختلف مکاتب میں الگ الگ ہوئیں۔ تحقیقی ڈیٹا بیس کے لیے بنیادی نکتہ یہ ہے کہ یہ حدیث امام علی کے مقام، قرب، محبت، نصرت اور احترام کو واضح کرتی ہے۔ تفاسیر اور مناقب کی روایت میں کئی قرآنی آیات امام علی اور اہل بیت کے فضائل سے متعلق بیان کی جاتی ہیں، جیسے 2:207، 3:61، 5:3، 5:55، 5:67، 33:33، 42:23، اور 76:8-9؛ آیات کی کل تعداد مختلف کتب میں مختلف ہے، اس لیے یہاں قطعی عدد کے بجائے معروف آیت نمبرز درج کیے گئے ہیں۔

امام علی علیہ السلام کی گھریلو زندگی اہل بیت کی تاریخ کا بنیادی حصہ ہے۔ سیدہ فاطمہ کے ساتھ ان کا تعلق محبت، حیا، خدمت، غربت میں وقار، عبادت اور دینی اخلاص کا نمونہ سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ سیدہ فاطمہ کے وصال کے بعد انہوں نے بعد میں دیگر نکاح کیے، جن میں ام البنین فاطمہ بنت حزام، خولہ بنت جعفر حنفیہ، اسماء بنت عمیس، لیلیٰ بنت مسعود اور دیگر خواتین کا ذکر نسبی کتب میں ملتا ہے۔ ان سے عباس، جعفر، عبد اللہ، عثمان، محمد بن حنفیہ، عمر، رقیہ اور دیگر اولاد پیدا ہوئی۔ ان کی نسل اور علمی و روحانی وراثت امام حسن، امام حسین اور ائمہ اہل بیت کے ذریعے اسلامی تاریخ میں مرکزی مقام رکھتی ہے۔

علمی حیثیت سے امام علی علیہ السلام کو باب العلم، قرآن کے عالم، قضا و فتویٰ کے ماہر، عربی فصاحت کے امام، روحانی حکمت کے سرچشمہ اور عدل کے معیار کے طور پر یاد کیا جاتا ہے۔ ان سے استفادہ کرنے والوں میں امام حسن، امام حسین، عبد اللہ بن عباس، کمیل بن زیاد، میثم تمار، اصبغ بن نباتہ، حارث ہمدانی، ابو الاسود الدؤلی اور بہت سے ابتدائی مسلمان شامل ہیں۔ نہج البلاغہ جیسے بعد کے مجموعات نے ان کے خطبات، خطوط اور حکمت آمیز اقوال کو محفوظ کیا، جن میں عدل، حکومت، زہد، تقویٰ، عوام کے حقوق اور حکمرانوں کی جواب دہی پر نہایت گہرا مواد موجود ہے۔

حضرت عثمان بن عفان کی شہادت کے بعد 35ھ / 656ء میں امام علی خلیفہ بنے۔ ان کا دور خلافت سیاسی بحران، قصاص کے مطالبات، قبائلی دباؤ، داخلی اختلافات اور اقتدار کے متنازع دعووں سے گھرا ہوا تھا۔ اس دور کی بڑی جنگوں میں جنگ جمل، جنگ صفین اور جنگ نہروان شامل ہیں۔ انہوں نے کوفہ کو مرکز بنایا اور گورنروں و عاملوں کو لکھے گئے خطوط میں عدل، امانت، بیت المال کی حفاظت، کمزوروں کے حقوق، حکمران کی ذمہ داری، اور اللہ کے سامنے جواب دہی پر زور دیا۔ ان کی حکومت سخت سیاسی حالات میں اخلاقی حکمرانی کی مثال کے طور پر یاد کی جاتی ہے۔

ان کی شہادت رمضان 40ھ / 661ء میں کوفہ میں ہوئی۔ عبد الرحمن بن ملجم، جو خوارج سے تعلق رکھتا تھا، نے فجر کی نماز کے وقت مسجد کوفہ میں زہر آلود تلوار سے ان پر حملہ کیا؛ مشہور روایت کے مطابق ضرب 19 رمضان کو لگی اور 21 رمضان کو شہادت ہوئی۔ اس وقت کے حالات جنگ صفین کے بعد کی کشیدگی، خوارج کی انتہا پسندی، اور معاویہ کے ساتھ جاری سیاسی اختلافات سے بھرے ہوئے تھے۔ روایات میں آتا ہے کہ انہوں نے اپنے قاتل کے ساتھ بھی عدل کی تاکید کی اور حد سے زیادہ انتقام سے منع فرمایا۔ ابتدائی دور میں ان کی تدفین کو پوشیدہ رکھا گیا، پھر نجف ان کے روضہ اور زیارت کا معروف مرکز بنا۔
