این زیارتگاه در العشار، محله‌ای تاریخی در شهر بصره، قرار دارد. در میان مردم با نام زیارتگاه سید عبدالله شناخته می‌شود و حافظهٔ محلی آن را مدفن عبدالله بن امام علی هادی، درود بر او، می‌داند. اطلاعیه‌های جدید زیارتگاه و گزارش‌های بازسازی، نام کنونی مکان، استمرار زیارت و رسیدگی نهادی را تأیید می‌کنند، اما به‌تنهایی ادعای رابطهٔ مستقیم پدر و فرزندی را ثابت نمی‌کنند.
