Tasmiyat, p. 153 entry 62, explicitly identifies Abd al-Rahman as the son of Mas'ud ibn al-Hajjaj and places the two entries consecutively, establishing core roster status and the paternal relationship. Ibsar al-Ayn preserves the later Taymi/Tamimi attribution, the report that father and son came with Umar ibn Sa'd during the truce, joined Imam Husayn and were killed in the first assault. The Rafed retelling adds a more elaborate escape explanation and is not independent early evidence. The mother, age, personal speech, killer and exact individual battle action remain unverified. The shared-parent location does not establish a separate grave.
