The early Tasmiyat list explicitly identifies Amir ibn Muslim among the Abd al-Qays martyrs and separately names Salim as his mawla. Al-Tabari’s early Basran narrative securely concerns Yazid ibn Thubayt and his two sons; later biographical and maqtal works connect Amir and Salim with the same departure and joining near Makkah. The claim that Amir’s father died at Siffin belongs to later rijal/genealogical material and is not treated as an early Karbala fact. A modern critical discussion notes confusion with Amir ibn Hassan al-Ta'i; the identities remain separate. First-assault placement remains later attribution.
