Al-Fudayl ibn al-Zubayr's early Tasmiyat roster directly names al-Harith ibn Nabhan and describes him as a mawla of Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib. This makes the main identity and martyrdom core rather than merely variant. The patronymic identifies Nabhan as his father. Later biographical works interpret Nabhan as Hamza's servant or dependent and expand the account to al-Harith's association with Imam Ali, Imam Hasan and Imam Husayn, the Medina-to-Karbala journey and martyrdom in the first assault.
