Rijal al-Tusi lists “Zahir, companion of Amr ibn al-Hamiq” among the companions of Imam al-Husayn. Rijal al-Najashi independently preserves a Zahir, mawla of Amr ibn al-Hamiq, through the ancestry of Muhammad ibn Sinan. Later Karbala works use the forms Zahir ibn Amr al-Kindi and Zahir al-Aslami.
