The early Tasmiyat list explicitly names Ubaydullah with his father Yazid ibn Thubayt, his brother Abdullah, and the Abd al-Qays martyrs. Al-Tabari securely supports the departure of Yazid and his two sons from Basra and their meeting with Imam Husayn near Makkah. Later biographical works connect Amir, Salim, Sayf, and Adham with the same Basran circle; this wider companionship is not presented as an explicit detail of the early Tabari scene.
