🌿 वंश और पारिवारिक पृष्ठभूमि

वे यमनी क़बाइली पृष्ठभूमि वाले कूफ़ी थे और उनके लिए ख़ौलानी तथा किंदी दोनों संबंध मिलते हैं। बाद की पुस्तकें उनका वंश जुंदब बिन हुजैर बिन जुंदब बिन ज़ुहैर तक बढ़ाती हैं और उन्हें सहाबी तथा सिफ़्फ़ीन में इमाम अली अलैहिस्सलाम का साथी बताती हैं; जुंदब बिन ज़ुहैर ग़ामिदी से संभावित मिश्रण के कारण इस हिस्से को सावधानी से पढ़ा जाता है।

⚔️ कर्बला आंदोलन में भूमिका

कूफ़ा के पुराने समर्थक, जिनके बारे में बाद की परंपरा बताती है कि वे हुर्र से सामना होने से पहले रास्ते में इमाम हुसैन अलैहिस्सलाम से मिले और आशूरा में शहीद हुए।

The early translated list explicitly records Jundab ibn Hujayr as entry 72 and Hujayr ibn Jundab as his son at entry 73. Rijal al-Tusi and Ibsar al-Ayn support Jundab's association with Imam Husayn and his Karbala martyrdom. Ibsar al-Ayn nevertheless records hesitation about the son's independent attestation in later ziyarat lists. Reports of Prophetic companionship, Siffin command and the extended genealogy remain later material and are kept separate from the stronger Karbala identity because of possible confusion with Jundab ibn Zuhayr al-Ghamidi.
